Terms of Service

Effective date: 1 June 2026

1. About Bowlside

Bowlside (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a sports club management platform operated from the United Kingdom. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Bowlside website at bowlside.com and all related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter a binding contract to use the Service. By accepting these Terms you represent that you meet these requirements.

When you register a club, you represent that you are authorised to act on behalf of that club and agree to these Terms on its behalf.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@bowlside.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may not share your account with others or create accounts for automated or bulk access to the Service.

4. Free and Paid Plans

Bowlside offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Feature limits for each tier are described on our Pricing page and may change with reasonable notice.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. All prices are in GBP and inclusive of VAT where applicable. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the current billing period and no partial refunds are issued.

We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Upload, transmit, or store content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on the Service.
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited commercial communications.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without prior notice.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all data and content you upload to the Service (“Your Content”). By uploading it, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring Your Content complies with applicable law, including UK GDPR obligations when you upload personal data about members of your club. You act as the data controller for your members’ personal data; we act as your data processor. Please see our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Bowlside and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service beyond the limited right to use it as described here.

8. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

For planned maintenance we will endeavour to provide advance notice. In the event of unplanned outages we will communicate status updates as promptly as possible.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. You may delete your account via the Settings page or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or if required by law.

On termination we will retain your data for 30 days to allow export before permanently deleting it, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bowlside shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Our total liability to you in respect of any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) £100.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
